Category: Let's talk
Last night I listened to the song "skin" it's by Rascal Flats. They're a country group. Anyway that song had me cryin' harder than I ever thought a song could make me cry.
My love for music already tends to make me get emotionally involved with the things I listen to, so for me to be shocked I guess really means something.
Anyhoo, my question is, do any of you have that one song that just brings out the emotions even though don't know why, and is it so strong that just thinking of the song does it to you?
I also posted this topic in the Jam Session board.
Yes, most of Pat Metheny's and Kurt Elling's music has a deep, emotional impact on me. I've found that a song doesn't have to have lyrics for it to move me. In fact, if it doesn't have lyrics, that usually carries more weight for me, because the effectiveness of a musician's ability to move me lies completely in their delivery. John Coltrain's "A Love supreme" is a remarkable illustration of what I mean by this.
Oh!!!! Good point!!! It's even more effective for music to move you without lyrics!!! I love John Coltrain!!!
Mercy Me - I Can Only Imagine.
Well, that 9-11 tribute song not sure who it's by, but it's this little kid talking during that one song called Heaven, and well, made me cry because it made me think of my dad who passed away last year.
definately Speed of Pain Marilyn Manson it makes me feel comfortably empty....Baptisma Sopor Aeternus which is just heartbreakingly beautiful and very emotive..it makes me stop immediately and nothing else matters.
Staind - Right Here.
Rascal Flatts - Like I am. Incubus - I mmiss you (Acoustic version.) E.s Post humus Nara, this orchestral like piece with flutes and such.
Seether - Broken (with Amy of Evanescence).
the song Lorenzo by Phil collins makes me cry, so does you'll never walk alone. So does a song called Nkosi Sikelel I don't know why that one makes me cry.
How about the song, Volare, by Domenico Modugno? It's a great song!
How about the song, Volare, by Domenico Modugno? It's a great song! Agreed!!!
Oh yeah!!! The romance languages are so pretty!!! Anything in foren tungs is nice and easy to appreciate! And if it makes you cry without actually knowing the words that does say a lot about the singers as well! :-) :-)
Nessun Dorma Luciano Pavarotti or Jose Carreras ..Un Bel De Vedremo ..Madame Butterfly...Gorecki's symphony of sorrowful songs no 4 Zofia Kilanowicz..Mozart's Lacrimosa ..when a singer came to go over the vocal pieces Mozart, already very ill, wept and said."Did I not tell you I was writing this for myself".
