Have you ever heard a song that just made you stop, think and/or cry?

Last night I listened to the song "skin" it's by Rascal Flats. They're a country group. Anyway that song had me cryin' harder than I ever thought a song could make me cry.
My love for music already tends to make me get emotionally involved with the things I listen to, so for me to be shocked I guess really means something.
Anyhoo, my question is, do any of you have that one song that just brings out the emotions even though don't know why, and is it so strong that just thinking of the song does it to you?
I also posted this topic in the Jam Session board.

Yes, most of Pat Metheny's and Kurt Elling's music has a deep, emotional impact on me. I've found that a song doesn't have to have lyrics for it to move me. In fact, if it doesn't have lyrics, that usually carries more weight for me, because the effectiveness of a musician's ability to move me lies completely in their delivery. John Coltrain's "A Love supreme" is a remarkable illustration of what I mean by this.

Oh!!!! Good point!!! It's even more effective for music to move you without lyrics!!! I love John Coltrain!!!

Post 30 by yankee g wolverine (Account disabled) on Thursday, 18-Aug-2005 13:55:06

their really isn't a song that makes me cry, but many that gives me strong emotion
for example
"have you ever needed someone so bad" def leppard
"I'll never let you go" steelheart
"life goes on" poison
and "without you" motley crew
those are just a few, give me time I'll think of more.
